This easy super hearty Paleo and Whole 30 compliant Slow Cooker Turkey Chili recipe is so delicious and versatile. It will satisfy the pickiest of eaters and is great as a meal on its own or on top of lettuce, roasted veggies, or for breakfast with a sunny side egg on top. My kids like it with chips and avocado. It was a hit during the Super Bowl and super delicious with a variety of toppings. This crockpot Paleo Turkey Chili is also one of those recipes that is perfect to cook all day while you’re at work since it takes many hours to build and blend all of the flavors. Slow Cooker Size: 5-6 quart.
Ingredients
1 tbs. avocado oil or EVOO
2 lbs. ground turkey (93% lean)
1 large yellow onion, diced
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper, seeded and diced
1 large sweet potato, peeled and cut in ½-inch cubes
1 14.5 oz can fire-roasted diced tomatoes, undrained
1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1 cup chicken broth
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. paprika
2 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp cumin
½ tsp. black pepper
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground turkey until cooked through, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add diced onions and minced garlic and continue to cook for about 3 more minutes or until onions are soft.
- Transfer meat mixture to slow cooker.
- Add bell pepper, sweet potato, tomatoes, broth, chili powder, paprika, salt, oregano, cumin, and pepper.
- Mix well, cover and cook on low for 10-12 hours, or on high for 5-6 hours.
- Serve with toppings such a jalapeños, onion, avocado, cilantro, etc.
